For several years now, the Great Piggy Bank project has been implemented in Kazakhstan. Everyone who wishes during Great Lent can collect money in a cardboard piggy bank, and on Palm Sunday bring it to the Temple. It doesn’t matter how much you can raise; the very meaning of this project is important – to remember the deeds of mercy during Lent.
The Caritas-Astana Foundation does not stand aside and invites parishes to take part in this project. For example, last year parishioners collected 455,000 tenge. With these funds, our foundation purchased an oxygen concentrator and a special bed with an electric drive.
Great Lent is not only a time of abstinence and prayer, but also a time of good deeds.
